Between Buddha and ee cummings

19 Oct

decay
is inherent
in all component things.
is
there anything
dead or alive
which is
more beautiful
than that?
the boys
and girls
i meet
are not refined.
they carve
uncelebrated crosses
into their backs
and fill the grooves in
with black ink.
they like to
ponder people
in the half-light
of their motivations.
they do not
give a shit
for wit
or art.
time
feathers
frightened
fields
like rain.
i love
to feel
your hip
with my
left hand
and tell you:
life
is no
paragraph;
death, no parenthesis.
decay
is inherent
in all component things.

ah ha, e.e. cummings reference, there. I see you, mister. :) Not ALL Bukowski ’round these parts, apparently.

    I like the hip part.
