A Month of Sundays

5 Dec

darling, darling, darling
this and this and this and this and this and this
it’s all wrong, darling, don’t you see?
it’s all wrong.
all of it.
it’s all rubbish.
how you think? it’s all rubbish.
you were made in god’s eyes, don’t you see now.
god’s eyes.
god’s image.
jesus died for you. for you only.
so all of this…this…thinking and contemplating
all this questioning,
darling, darling, darling it’s all wasted.
it’s mental masturbation.

“Masturbation! Thou saving grace note upon the baffled chord of self.”

oh god, that’s an awful thing to say.
who said that?
did you say that?
god, that’s awful.
darling.
did you read that somewhere?
simply ghastly.
did you?
stop reading that kind of rubbish. stop it. just…
simply, it’s scandalous.
stop it.
all right, darling? all right?
promise me you’ll stop it.
promise me or i’ll cry right here, right now.
you’ll make your own mother cry. is that what you want?
is it?
darling?
well, is it?

Hah hah! I have been having this conversation all week.

    Rubbish.

This sounds a bit like that character, what was her name, that your other character met in a bathroom stall, talking to???

Glad you re-enabled comments for this one. I’ve been reading, but you’ve been on radio silence. :)

To quote Green Day: When masturbation’s lost its fun
    You’re fucking breaking.

Why else do we even have the ability to keep up the inner dialog, if not to entertain the gods and demons. I think we are their tv.

I know this dialogue. Wish I didn’t, but I do, only it’s from the kind-folk in the rural workplace.

Last night I wanted to comment on what I read so badly. Do we get to keep comments for a while? Please?
    xoxo
