Back in Guernica

27 Nov

After over four years of first being published in the amazing Guernica Magazine, I am so honoured to be back with a (longish) short story called Those Years in Montreal.

According to the fiction editor, I now hold the Guernica record for having the shortest and longest story they’ve ever published. I don’t care much for records, unless of course we’re talking about vinyl, but I do care about finding a home for this story, which clocks in at just over 10,000 words, and having that home be Guernica. It’s not easy nowadays to find a publisher for such long fiction, but to have this story reside in Guernica, for me, is like winning the Booker Prize. I am so humbled to appear alongside such great authors.

Many thanks to fiction editor Meakin Armstrong for his vision and guidance, and many more thanks to all of you who have read this story or are planning to in the future.
